Opera Seria Chorus | Supporters

As grant funding is not always available, and ticket sales do not cover all the costs associated with putting on a production, we rely on the genereous support of patrons and sponsors, private and corporate, to help us offset the costs involved in producing our operas. Support a Singer

Opera Seria is proud to work with emerging professionals to help them gain stage experience and continue learning and growing in their craft. By offering challenging repertoire to singers at the early stages of their careers, we give them the chance to explore exciting roles in a safe, fun environment. Our current Donizetti cycle offers singers the chance to work on the bel canto repertoire. We hope to offer our singers master classes with professionals in the field to work on their roles and study this style in more detail. During the production of Anna Bolena singers were offered the chance to work with conductor Jeremy Silver on arias and duets. We have some great plans for Roberto Devereux and Lucia di Lammermoor, but we need help to give more of these opportunities to singers. This is where you come in.

We are welcoming support on two levels:
1. Sponsor a singer. A donation of £100 will act like a bursary for your specified singer. This fee will help them offset their travel and subsistence costs during the productions, and will give them a bit of spending money as a thanks for all their hard work. In turn, we'll offer you a free ticket to see your singer perform live, the chance to meet them backstage, and we will keep you updated on their career progress. (limit 2 per singer).
2. Sponsor a workshop. A donation of £400 will help give the principal singers a chance to workshop their roles with an industry professional.

Beyond this, you can also support our chorus and orchestra:
1. Sponsor a chorus member. A £60 donation will help pay for their score and costume, and give them money to help cover their travel expenses for rehearsals.
2. Sponsor an orchestra seat. A £60 donation will provide the orchestra players with money to help them get to and from rehearsals with their instruments.

Your help will ensure that our singers receive what they deserve for their hard work and dedication.

Or, if you prefer a more traditional route to sponsorship, we can always use help to fund our operas and ensure we are giving the community the best possible experience. Here are some ideas of ways you could help:

£50 - will help cover rehearsal costs for a month
£150 - will provide a set of vocal scores to the principals
£350 - will provide the orchestral scores to the orchestra players
£500 - will help offset the cost of venue hire for smaller productions
£1,000 - will put stunning costumes on the backs of the entire chorus in our main production
£5,000 - will build a bigger, better set for the main fully-staged production
£10,000 - is a substantial gift towards supporting an entire production (gifts of this size can be made towards an already planned production, or speak to the Artistic Director if you would like to see something in particular).

Financing an opera is no easy feat, and any donation large or small goes a long ways to help us cover our costs and ensure we continue to provide quality entertainment. Donations in any amount under £500 can be made through paypal to info@operaseria.co.uk. For donations over £500 (or for those who don't use pay pal), please email us on info@operaseria.co.uk.
