Orfeo ed Euridice

On 8th December, Opera Seria presents one of Gluck's most popular works: Orfeo ed Euridice, at St Clement's Church in Chorlton.

Orfeo ed Euridice is the story of Orfeo, the musician who curses the gods when his young wife, Euridice, dies. Moved by his despair, Amore, the goddess of love, gives Orfeo permission to venture into hell to reclaim his wife. There is just one catch: he must not look at her until they return from the underworld. Their journey will test the power of devotion and prove whether love is stronger than death.
